nandu lands on off recordings with a spellbinding three-track debut. walk opens proceedings, merging a chugging low end with forlorn vocals, claves and clangs, setting a dark and trippy atmosphere. label head andre crom reworks the addictive original, twisting it into a swirling trip of layered synths and subtle, shuffling hi-hats. the exotic entitled limon sits somewhere in between. its off-the-wall drum programming and moody, arpeggiated synth line gives this one a late night feel that is sure to blow the roof off of any dance floor.

‘prepare to commit the name najem sworb to memory’ commanded philip sherburne when he reviewed the strasbourgers previous record for resident advisor. it wasnt a hard ask, sworb makes some pretty incredible stuff. known by some for his fantastic release on the now defunct ai records and famous renow ep on clone basement series (was supported by josh wink, rod, cassy etc.), najem makes his debut here on technorama records! swaying to the uk sound, this ep clearly targets the dancefloor, delivering four genuine techno tracks structured with the trippy spacey savour that najem is known for. enjoy!

after the very first release by the romanian producer alex baciu, zefzeed is the protagonist of the second release with amazing hyperclub ep: a dreamy trip on deep vibrations and hypnotizing sounds still keeping your feet on the dancefloor. the ep starts with *hyperclub*, a catchy track with an obscillating groove and trippy chords. instead, the second track *dar stai putin* is a journey with elegant sounds towards warm dancefloor beats.

• * sabato in pineta* is a track written by these 3 guys (cosimo colella, fabio liuzzi, carmine mongelli) after a great party between the woods of their favorite club, sound department. they capture the feelings and the emotions and write this track in few hours. the emotional impact is really strong, with a great work on surreal pads and trippy synths. the listener can be projected into the atmosphere of the club, but this is sure not only a dancefloor oriented work. andres, with his version, give us a great remix, with his usual amazing use of drums and deep and reminiscent pads. fabio della torre finish the ep with an high quality dub version, more raw and intense on the grooves.

simple enough to come true (lag005) is the debut solo e.p. from l.a.g. label boss arthur kimskii. the ep contains 3 cuts. simple enough is the emotional big room cut with trippy vocals and rolling bass and big kicks. she survived playfully uses noise elements and reverb. the producers ny/nj influences really shine through in this deep house/techno cut.

lanthan.audio kicked off 2016 with its third release. label owner, christian gerlach, has already delivered two powerful punches of conceptual techno by artists like edit select and deepbass. this time the south african born, new york based producer the echologist has been chosen to lead the five track ep. echologist, also known as brendon moeller, has always demonstrated his passion for hypnotic synths with intense smoky atmospheres. he delivers two original tracks that have then been remixed by a familiar name to the label, deepbass, as well as the talented antonio ruscito. with the original cuts you can expect a trippy journey into metallic loops on a spatial environment of solid beats. the deepbass remix offers another version of the hypnotic process in ‘dead men tell no tales’ in a more powerful manner. on the flipside, the italian, antonio ruscito delivers two other interpretations of the original track through different paths. the b2 serves us a proper banging synthetic vibe and the last bonus track, which is digital only, is the final trip to an hypnotic and cloudy deepspace. with this package lanthan.audio continues showing interest on a structural sound with that artistic touch of architecture. expect to see some more new constructions of they’re new building.

having recently played an eight hour set to a sold-out crowd at london’s oval space, the prolific dusky drop a trio of moody club tool tracks on 17 steps as they continue their european autumn/winter tour. a club tool in the most effective sense, lead track ’lydia’ is dark, nagging acid groover that builds and builds throughout its 6 hypnotic minutes. with all the melodic material based around the lydian scale, ‘lydia’ was originally inspired by a bizarre, trippy dream alfie had in which everything was all based on the lydian scale. a homage to classic techno, ‘bitter lake’ is a hard-hitting surge of looping, percussive energy and detroit-nodding rave stabs that build to a hoover-fuelled breakdown release. rounding off the trio, the brilliantly titled and uniquely composed ‘infinite libido’ again explores dusky’s more percussive tendencies and has been a regular feature in their dj sets for the past year.

limited to 250 copies.spain s alex font inaugurates his new acme imprint. on the a side, sound on canvas is deep and percussive minimal house with a rolling bassline and trippy sound design that is typically suited to awkward and paranoid afterhours shenanigans. the rhythm gets up more on the deep house tip, still keeping the exotic wooden percussion grooves with organ stabs and dreamy, swirling keys that fans of the mountain people or agnes and quarion will appreciate. on the flip into the flux is a sweaty, peak time people mover, using the same reliable elements like on the other side but with a swing fuelled groove and a hell of a lot of funk that fans of sascha dive or brothers vibe will no doubt dig.

the next release on paul rip s specimen records is by god of the machine, the brainchild of deep house and techno maestro, derrick thompson a.k.a. drivetrain. the ep kicks of with the original, a powerful slice of jackin tribal techno, its bleeps, tones and chants sitting atop a tight percussive groove that s infectious from the first beat to the last drop. next up comes hijacker s electro workout. its beats are old school yet the attitude is set firmly in the future with its square wave bass line, trippy noises and swooping scikfi pads. santonio echols takes it back to detroit with a simple yet driving tech house rendition containing sublime melodic chords, eerie pads and a hypnotic pad stab that sends tingles up your spine. mr.c finishes with one of his typically infectious acid workouts, where he adds a cheeky bassline, haunting pads and cowbell pings to blend and morph into the twisted effects of a psychoactive substance.

here comes the heavy remix package to lake peoples much praised debut album purposely uncertain field. with redshape, lawrence and map.ache three remixes were carefully chosen who would be able to bring their own distinctive sound to the table, but also treat the original tracks respectfully. redshape catapults -illuminated- into the orbit of the red planet, where it rotates in a trippy and hypnotic way. lawrence is drifting red but stays closer to the sun. the dial boss keeps things lighter and brings some bells and a steady bass drum to dinner and knows how to mesmerise. leipzig buddy and kann records co-founder map.ache shifts up a gear with his remix for cooping. twisted vocals and a bouncy bassline make his remix a darling on the club floor and rounds things consistently up.

shortly after his first ep on dnuos ytivil, sub-division of bristol imprint livity sound, simo cell, neo-parisian and nantes native, puts his second release out on fragil musique. on this one, the young producer asserts his bass-tainted electro influences. highly skilled and very technical dj, but above all open to bridges between genres and eras, the record feels like he conceived it for his own club usage. on the a side, two subtle twin tracks, -reading rashid- and -soko ban-. cycling melodies and hypnotic pads sketch two bass outlines, as simple as effective, that seem perfectly fit for switching from a stripped down techno track to an old jungle weapon. on the flip, hit track -meteor racer- is surprising. a rawer and more stripped down electro piece that lifts the veil a bit more on the young producers talent. those four brilliantly crafted track definitely place simo cell among the french newcomers to watch closely.

broken grooves are almost always present in arapus productions and pitfall is no different. with a trippy synth that goes all the way and effected voices to go along, this track rules the night and the whole a side.
two tracks found their way on the b side and their flavour is quite different. escape is a pure deep house gem, and a clear indication of arapus soulful influence. extremely danceable and super uplifting, this track brings the summer back. wasting on the other hand is dark and has a dirty broken tech groove. this track may seem toolish but it s a monster when it hits.

marquis hawkes returns with a new ep for houndstooth, sweet. pairing up a sugary r&b sample with his signature swinging but slamming beats, opening cut when i get home is a return to the flavour of last year s summer smash cant find a reason, although this time around, it s more tracky and introspective. next up, a different facet of hawkes production talents is reprised with at the witness stand, a trippy take on classic ny freestyle. opening the b-side, title track sweet furthers hawkes trademark rough and ready house sound with distinctive vocal hooks and a hip-twitching rhythm, whilst bringing up the rear, what a relief is a raw but inescapably funky drum workout that would make the likes of traxmen & eric martin proud.

drumma records presents its second collaboration with romanian duo vinyl speed adjust (vsa). the ep titled the awakening shows us vsas intelligent approach to music, an ideal fit at drumma records where creatively effervescent music is embraced with open arms. the record has 4 tracks. the eponymous the awakening is a special trip between break rhythms, modern jazz and a dreamy perpetual arpeggio. it creates a great mood for artists who want to present something special during their set. a2 is the grind, a very strong and acid track with a powerful evolving bassline that creates perfect suspense. inspired by the 90s, its raw and its analogue, definitely a hot track. monoxide comes with a linear rhythmic pattern and a very deep sub-bass sound fused with trippy synth soundscapes, ideal to put in a mental note during a session. the release is topped off with an amazing remix by the great valentino kanzyani. hes brought his own approach to the grind. the remix is a track with very strong groove and an intelligent evolution that creates small sonic worlds at every turn. valentino knows how to masterfully work a constant crescendo where tension and rest is perfectly resolved and we can feel his approach to techno at its best.

viennese analog-wizards buffered multiple (also known for their electro-outlet microthol) deliver the followup to buffer 01 with three outstanding tracks of deep, mysterious and mesmerizing techno. mark 1.12. is the track that works well in the peaktime situation, while the b-side shows their extremely detailed production skillz and knowledge about the minimalistic but floating techno. besides their production skillz, the duo teams up for extended trippy vinyl-dj sets which demonstrate a level of knowledge in techno which is rare to find these days. efdemin is happy to welcome the two producers back on lirum larum.

for the its 11th release, mindtrip brings together 4 of the most challenging and interesting artists of the current techno scene, presenting two original tracks and two remixes. this record opens with ovadoca from the highly productive dutchman tripeo, also known as darko esser. ovadoca is a dark, meandering and trippy track which incorporates rich analogue sounds with a deep, rolling groove, perfect for parties which continue for days not hours. the second track introduces finnish dj and producer juho kusti to the mindtrip imprint with his brilliant interpretation of ovadoca.

up first is gigolo, a spare and weird house cut with sine waves and random claps, hunched drums and trippy synth lines. it s a unique track made in a unique way and will lead to plenty of freaky dance floor moments, for sure. co. art is a whacked out techno cut with slap-funk claps, blistering and blistered synth lines and a rugged bit of bass underlining it all. the track is cavernous and metallic, empty and distant as if it somehow survived a nuclear blast. on the flip, alzheimer is a slow and gurgling, swampy techno number with broken drums and crawling synths that sound like their batteries have run down. icy, watery melodies eventually rain down, but the track remains resolutely eerie. last of all, fabric is another decaying track with subtle, heavily filtered synths and drums all making for a minimal groove that is barely there.

third release on maciek sienkiewiczs fasrat label comes from a polish wunderkind selvy three tunes showing his rare versatility, blending together deepest house, acidic techno, dreamy balearia, all with a very special exotic feel. groovy, funky, dreamy and trippy in equal proportions!

throwing rave parties since 2011, the bp collective has been founded with the objective of bringing a new breath to the french underground techno scene. in the bp tag und nacht” parties the visual universe tends to merge with the sound. each of the two stages has something different to tell: tag for the open air, nacht for the dark and smoky room. this project is based on the belief that the story told by sound depends on the visual atmosphere in which it is played. indeed this very first ep is built between those two atmospheres, the 4 tracks of the ep could be played in any of the two scenes tag or nacht with a totally different impact on the audience. on the tag stage, both of the tracks are colorful, atmospheric and dynamic whereas on the nacht stage, they become dark, trippy and powerful. this record is the first release of the two artists x1000 on the a side and vidock on the b side. both of them are part of the bp collective since the beginning, they draw their influences from the 90s detroit and belgium techno and trance scene. its difficult not to think about artists like the martian, model 500, robert leiner or the whole r&s label while listening to these 4 tracks.

the first trackman ep went out on ideal trax in 1995, a six track, two vinyl ep spanning trippy, classic acid cuts, detroit and chicago influences, sheffield bleep and manchester hacienda rave era overtones. trackman has now been lovingly remastered and re-issued on infrastructure, with a bonus track paradise included, which featured later on the 1996 dont stop ep also a classic in it s own right.

140g vinyl with crossword puzzle to find out the track names! a1: trippy trip house with stompy bass, sometimes, and trumpet alike synths playing softy on the other end, ever changing. a2: slow slow slow strong powerful and dirty, yet softy hippy real music. b1: loopy house with non-loopy synth and bass line on top. b2: beehive sound reloaded with hand-played lead synth on top sounding strongly live.

singular records number 7 is finally coming this september and this time it is a new collaboration between brendon moeller and myself. you will find two very distinct sides, a physical one on a side with “phaser core” and “the fog” which are heavy driving grooves for the floors, then a more “trippy” one on b side with “travelogue 1 & 2&#8243,,,, cuts, taking you into deeper vibes. i had a very great time working on this project with brendon, and as it was my very first collaboration, it’s been great to share this experience with such good producer. i hope you will enjoy the result ! marcelus.
